In late '66, future guitar god Jimi Hendrix formed The Jimi Hendrix Experience with Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell and began the group's brief but meteoric rise to fame. They began appearing in clubs in the UK and released their first single there at the end of the year. The following summer they would open for The Monkees on tour before stunning rock fans at The Monterey Pop Festival.
And the world will never be the same!
