1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown

The 1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown, a cool large car that took on extra coolness when it was used as the basis for the Green Hornet and Kato's Black Beauty!

Dr. Who and the Daleks

The venerable DR. WHO franchise first appeared in the US in late '66 when Peter Cushing's big screen version crossed the Atlantic.

In England, the Daleks were, if anything, even more popular than the Doctor! Below is a wire service photo from March of 1965. Beneath that is a 1965 MIKE DOUGLAS SHOW episode listing showing that at least some effort was made to make them that popular here as well. Didn't catch on, though.

Yeoman Rand and Star Trek

R.I.P. Judy Carne

Although her greatest fame would came with LAUGH-IN a few years later, in '66 the delightfully English Judy Carne was being hyped right alongside my two all-time favorite sitcom ladies, Marlo Thomas and Elizabeth Montgomery, for her well-remembered but short-lived series, LOVE ON A ROOFTOP.
