My First Brave and Bold

My first B&B. Took it with me to my Dad's horseshoe tournament where I sat in the back seat of our car with the windows rolled down, drinking a glass bottle of Coke through a straw and re-reading it over and over. It's a riff on the TV series' camp, a showcase for writer Bob Haney's pet hero, Metamorpho, and a dig at Marvel via the "Hulk" references. One of THE weirdest comics of a weird era!

Patty Duke/Perry Como-Downtown

Petula Clark's song was a huge hit so, of course, everyone had to sing it, That included, as seen here from '66, the ever-popular Perry Como with the late Patty Duke who had a pleasant singing voice but did not harmonize well.

Birds Do It

Soupy Sales' kids show of the early 1960s made him a major cult figure in show biz but that didn't necessarily translate to other projects. Although he would remain a welcome figure in TV throughout the rest of his life--and a first class game show player--his first and only major attempt at big screen stardom came and went in '66. Filled with cameos and comedy, it's fun but silly and forgettable.

THE PAD (AND HOW TO USE IT) was a '66 dramady that offered a rare US starring role to Brian Bedford who died in 2016. Later TV stars Julie Sommars and James Farentino co-starred along with ubiquitous "scene-maker" of the '60s and '70s, Edy Williams.
