We didn't get these in my area until 1969 or '70 but here's Jerry Beck's nice piece on the terrible but nostalgic as all get out MARVEL SUPER-HEROES cartoons of '66.

Gertrude Berg Passes

The world lost the great Gertrude Berg in '66. She had been one of the most famous and beloved women in the world as radio and later television's Molly Goldberg throughout the previous decade. A documentary on Ms. Berg was made a couple of years ago and can be found in its entirety currently on HULU.

The Statler Brothers-Flowers On the Wall

I didn't really listen to the radio in '66 but my parents and friends did so it was always on somewhere and I remember this as one of my favorite songs that year!

The Sonny Side of Chér

THE SONNY SIDE OF CHÉR was recorded and released in early '66 even as Sonny and Cher, as a duo, maintained a chart presence. Mostly cover tunes, one song, released a s a single, was a Bono original that would become Cher's biggest solo hit of the decade. In retrospect, a creepy one it is, though! "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)."
