For nearly 30 years the comic book MILLIE THE MODEL was published. For most of that time, it was an obvious Archie knock-off but in the early to mid-sixties, for several years, it became a generally light-hearted soap opera of a strip. During this period, future Archie artist Stan Goldberg drew the strip in a realistic, not quite romance comic style. Among the writers were a young Denny O'Neil with some of his earliest credited work. The title became the butt of a million punchlines from Stan Lee in letters columns and the Bullpen Bulletins...even on covers sometimes! Note in these 1966 issues that Millie featured a Beatles-type group as well as her own spy issue.
