One of the most important films of the year is the ultra-stylish BLOW-UP in which a Mod fashion photographer becomes convinced he has accidentally captured a murder on film. The artsy direction from Michelangelo Antonioni hasn't really aged well but it's still a major step in the history of modern filmmaking. For one thing, it is generally credited with the first fully frontal nude scene with a woman in a major release.
David Hemmings, sort of the Malcolm McDowell of his day, stars with Vanessa Redgrave, Sarah Miles and Jane Birkin while the Yardbirds appear memorably (with BOTH guitarists--Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page!) essentially playing the Who.
